This is a second example of changes in Fibroids post embolization. It is an unusual example of 99.5% reduction of a fibroid uterus with a starting size of 28 wks. 03/03/99: Taken 2 wks before the date of the embolization (Please note, that the maximum size change was probably completed by 25-35wks. The practicality was that the patient was not available for followup until the 40th week.) |

The red arrows demonstrate the normal-sized uterus, while the yellow arrow shows the pre-treatment uterine height. We would like all UAEs to be this successful (99.5% volume reduction). However, the reality is that the more commonly observed percentage reduction after UAE is 30 - 65%. | |
